Recognize the efforts of municipalities, departments, and employees for excellence or innovation in their risk management programs and activities.
- Provide a departmental plaque and individual certificates as well as an awards breakfast or other celebration to members of award winning departments and individual certificates as well as breakfast or other celebration to members of zero-loss departments. (Winning or zero-loss departments may choose to receive $250 toward any safety related training that would benefit the department in lieu of the breakfast or other celebration.)
- Recognize member cities that receive the Award of Excellence in the August issue of Risky Business.
- Continue the Public Risk Achievement Awards as part of the overall Safety Awards Program.
- Continue to provide awards for "Most Improved" and "Best Overall" as part of the SPEC program.
- Develop an awards recognition program for the Law Enforcement Best Practices Survey.
